TRAINING COLLEGES (NUMBER OF TEACHERS WHO HAVE BEEN GRANTED TEACHING-CERTIFICATES AFTER PASSING THROUGH THE) FOR THE YEARS 1911 AND 1912, AND THE NUMBER WHO ARE NOW IN THE SERVICE OF THE EDUCATION BOARDS.
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 12th November, 1913. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a Return showing the number of teachers who have been granted teaohing certificates after passing through the various training colleges for the years ended 31st December, 1911 and 1912, together with the number of teachers referred to who are now in the service of the various Education Boards."—(Mr. Buddo.)
Students who left Training Colleges in 1911 and 1912. and who hold Certificates or Under-age Licenses (see (2)), or have passed the Examination but not yet taken out Certificates. (This statement shows also those who, so far as can be ascertained, are at present employed in public or secondary schools of the Dominion.)

There are also three teachers employed in private schools : two certificated— one from Auckland Training College (1912), and one from Christchurch (1911) —and one from Wellington (1912) who has passed but not taken out her certificate. (2.) Under-age licenses are issued to teachers who have passed the examination for a teacher's certificate but have not reached the required age—namely, twenty-one years. Education Department. G.
