Return. The amount of land-tax paid by Crown tenants in respect of their interest in their Crown leases for the year ending 31st March, 1912, was £1,184 6s. Id. Note. —The above figures represent the amount of land-tax paid by Crown tenants in respect of their Crown leases when the amount can be ascertained. There are many other cases where Crown lessees pay land-tax, but as they have other assessable lands and are entitled to deductions for mortgages it is impossible to say what tax (if any) they pay on their leases.
