1909. NEW ZEALAND.

INVERCARGILL LICENSING DISTRICT: RETURNS SHOWING OFFENCES BEFORE THE COURT DURING TWO YEARS PRECEDING AND TWO YEARS AFTER NO-LICENSE; ALSO CONVICTIONS CONNECTED WITH DRUNKENNESS IN RESPECT OF WHICH SUPPLY OF LIQUOR WAS OBTAINED OUTSIDE DISTRICT.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 2nd October, 1908. Ordered, " That there b? laid before this House a return showing,—(l) Thi offences wl-ich came before the InvrcargUl Couit, and in respect of which convictions were recorded, (a) for the period of two years immediately preceding the carrying of no-license in Invorcargil], and (b) for the period of twc years after the coming into operation of no-Hcuse in Invercargill ; end (2) the number of convictions recorded during the latter period for drunkenness and cffcncis proved to be due to indulgence in intoxicating liquor, and in respect of which th a . supply of liquor was traceable to sourcia outside the no-license area of Invercargill."—(Mr. Hanan.)
