RIVERS RESERVED AS SLUDGE-CHANNELS (RETURN OF), SHOWING COMPENSATION PAID.
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 4th September, 1907. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing (1) the total sum paid by the Government up to the 31st March, 1907, as compensation for the proclamation of rivers as sludge-channels ; (2) tho names of the rivers proclaimed, and the amount so paid in connection with each river." —(Mr. Poland.)
Rivers proclaimed as Sludge-channeds, and Compensation paid in connection therewith. (1.) The total sum paid by the Government up to the 31st March, 1907, as compensation for the proclamation of rivers as sludge-channels, £51,376 4s. 9d. (2.)
