1901. NEW ZEALAND.
RAILWAY-CARRIAGES IMPORTED AND MADE IN THE COLONY (RETURNS RELATIVE TO).
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 9th July, 1901. Ordered, "That there be laid before this House a return showing how many new railway passenger-carriages have been imported into the colony since the beginning of the year, and how they have been disposed of; and, if similar oarriages can be made in the colony, the difference in the ascertained and estimated cost." —(Mr. Hogg.)

How many new passenger-carriages have been imported into the colony since the beginning of the year ? Sixty-three carriages. 2. How they have been disposed of: — Twelve to Auckland Section, eighteen to Wellington-Napier-New Plymouth Section, and thirty-three to Hurunui-Bluff Section. 3. If similar carriages can be made in the colony, the difference in the ascertained and estimated cost:— Similar carriages can be made in the colony.
