TEA IMPORTATIONS (PARTICULARS AS TO) FROM JANUARY TO JUNE, 1900.
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 22nd day of August, 1900. Ordered " That, in view of the proposal to protect the tea-packing industry of the colony by a special duty of 2d on packets of 10 ft. and less, and to enable the Hou«e to judge of the value of colonial-mixed packet teas, the Government lay before this House a return Bhowing—(l) The amount of tea in bulk passed through the Customs during the six months ended 30th June, 1900; (2) the amount of tea in packets of 10 ft. and less during the same period; and (3) the minimum value and maximum invoice-value of these clearances of bulk teas. '—(Mr. Buddo.)
Return of—(1) Amount of Tea in Bulk imported during Six Months ended 30th June, 1900; (2) Amount of Tea imported in Packages of 10lb. and under during the same period; (3) the Minimum and Maximum Invoice-price of the Bulk Tea.
