IRON AND STEEL (PARTICULARS RELATIVE TO IMPORTATION OF).

Betum to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 26th July, 1900. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing—(l) The quantity of iron and steel annually imported into New Zealand for the last five years; (2) the number of tons of iron and steel respectively imported and used by the Government, and the price paid, including freight; and (3) the number of tons of railway rails, together with iron material for bridges, with the prices paid for same."—(Mr. Smith.)
