LEGAL EXPENSES PAID BY THE GOVERNMENT IN THE FOUR PRINCIPAL CITIES DURING 1897-98 AND 1898-99.
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 6th October, 1899. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return (in continuation of H.-40, 1897) showing the various sums expended by the Government during the two years ended 31st March, 1898 and 1899, under the head of ' legal expenses ' in each of the four cities—Auckland, Wellington, Christchuroh, and Dunedin."—(Mr. Lewis.)
