RESIGNATION OF THE HONOURABLE JOHN McKENZIE, MINISTER OF LANDS (MEMORANDUM FROM HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR ACCEPTING THE).
Laid on the Table of the House of Representatives by leave of His Excellency, and presented to both Houses of the General Assembly by leave.
Government House, New Zealand, Wellington, 27th June, 1900. Memoeandum for the Bight Hon. the Peemieb. The Governor accepts with regret the resignation of the Hon. John McKenzie of the several portfolios held by him, and also of his seat on the Executive Council. He takes this opportunity of expressing his appreciation of Mr. McKenzie's unwearied attention to the portfolios he held, and especially of his ability and energy in the management of the Department of Lands and Agriculture. As Acting-Premier Mr. McKenzie welcomed him on landing in this colony to assume the position of Governor, and the cordial- relations therein commenced have continued to this day. He sincerely regrets the necessity felt by Mr. McKenzie to retire from public life. Eanfuely. Approximate Cost of Paper. —Preparation, not given ; printing (1,200 copies), 15s.
