EXPORTS: RETURNS SHOWING THE QUANTITY AND VALUE, YEAR BY YEAR, FOR THE LAST TWENTY YEARS, OF THE SEVEN PRINCIPAL COLONIAL PRODUCTS EXPORTED; ALSO, A STATEMENT OF THE PRICES AT WHICH THE PRINCIPAL ARTICLES OF EXPORT HAVE BEEN VALUED DURING THE LAST ELEVEN YEARS.

Returns to Orders of the Souse of Representatives dated 29th June, 1893. Ordered (No. 1), " That there be laid before this House a return showing the quantity and value, year by year, for the last twenty years, of the seven principal articles of export, being the produce of the colony.'"—(Hon. Sir J. Hall.) Ordered (No. 2), "That there be laid before this House a return showing the prices at which the principal articles of export from the colony have been valued, during the last eleven years, in the statement of the value of the exports."—(Hon. Sir J. Hall.)

No. 2.—STATEMENT showing Prices at which the Principal Articles of Export from the Colony have been valued during the last Eleven Years, in Statement of Values of Exports.

The export value stated in the statistical returns is based on the exporter's declaration of value, the correctness of which is inquired by Collectors of Customs. There is no standard value accepted if the exporter's value is found to be too high or too low, he is required to furnish correct value. Department of Trade and Customs, W. T.
