LOCAL BODIES IN NEW ZEALAND.
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives, dated 29th June, 1892. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing—(l) The number of different local governing bodies in New Zealand, and the total number of members of each of such local bodies; (2) The return to show the total number of local bodies arid the members thereof, under the following heads : County Councils, Municipal Councils, Harbour Boards, Education Boards, High School Boards, Road Boards, Charitable Aid Boards, Benevolent Society Trustees, Hospital Trustees, School Commissioners, Licensing Committees, Land Boards, local School Committees, and all other local bodies not enumerated in the above list."—(Mr. Guinness.)
