METAL FOR RAILWAY PURPOSES WITHIN TAIERI COUNTY.
Return to an Order of tlie House of Representatives dated 10th September, 1891. Ordered, " That a return be laid before this House showing how many yards of metal from the Logan's Point Quarry have been used for railway purposes, within the Taieri County between the Ist day of January, 1890, and the 31st day of August, 1891, inclusive, and the cost thereof to the Government, also, a return showing how many yards of metal from the Mosgiel Quarry have been used for railway purposes, within the Taieri County, between the Ist day day of January, 1890, and the 31st day of August, 1891, inclusive, and the cost thereof to the Government."—(Mr. Caencboss.)
Ebtuen of Metal from Logan's Point Quabby used for Eailway Pubposes, within the Taibki County, between the Ist Day of January, 1890, and the 31st Day of August, 1891, inclusive. Cubic yards of metal, 5,530. Cost per cubic yard, 2s. 6d. No metal was taken from Mosgiel during the period named. About 5,460 yards of rubble-stone was drawn from this quarry for use within the Taieri County during the same time. Approximate cost estimated at 2s. 3d. per cubic yard.
