Presented to both Houses of the General Assembly pursuant to "The Customs and Excise Duties Act, 1888."

Wm. F. DEUMMOND JEEVOIS, Governor. In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by " The Customs and Excise Duties Act, 1888," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby direct that, from and after the date hereof, there shall be levied upon the article known as "leatherboard " oi' " compo.," and used as a substitute for sole-leather, a duty of one penny the pound. Duty on Substitute fob Leather Belting.

JAMES PBENDEBGAST, Administrator of the Government. In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by "The Customs and Excise Duties Act, 1888," I, James Prendergast, Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, do hereby direct that, from and after the date hereof, there shall be levied upon cotton belting, canvas belting, indiarubber composition belting, or any other belting used as a substitute for leather belting, a duty of twenty per centum ad valorem.
