OFFICE STAFFS OF BOROUGH COUNCILS (RETURN OF).

Part Return to an Order of the Souse of Representatives, dated 2nd July, 1886. Ordered, " That the Government be requested to obtain and lay before this House early next session a. return allowing the number of officers composing the office staff of each Borough Council in the colony for the year 1886-87 ; such return to show, together or separately, the officers employed in the Town Clerk's, Engineer's, or Solicitor's Departments, and the salaries paid to each, together with a statement of the population of each borough, and the revenua and expenditure of each for the year 1886-87." —(Mr. Fisher.)
