THE PERMANENT MILITIA FORCE (RETURN SHOWING NUMBER AND COST OF).

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives, dated 11th May, 1887. Ordered, " That a return be made of persons at the present time enrolled in the Permanent Militia Poreo of this -colony : (1) The number of commissioned officers and their ranks; (2) The number of non-commissioned officers; (3) the, number of privates ; (4) the cost per head per annum of the above ranks respectively."—(Mr. Pitzhebbeet.)
