SALARIES, ETC., PAID AT PRINCIPAL LUNATIC ASYLUMS IN THE COLONY.

Return to an Order of the Souse of Representatives, dated 7th July, 1886. Ordered, " That a return bo laid upon the table of this House, in connection with the principal lunatic asylums at Seacliff, Sunnyside, Wellington, and Auckland, showing (1) the salaries paid in cash to the several attendants; (2) the ration allowance to each; (3) the resident or cottage accommodation afforded to each; and (4) the uniform allowance, if any. Also a similar return for the principal gaols of Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland, giving similar information respecting each of the warders at these gaols."—Mb. O'CALLAGHAN.

Return of Salaries and Allowances of the Attendants of the Lunatic Asylums at Auckland, Christchurch, Seacliff, and Wellington.

Ration Allowance. —All the attendants are allowed rations. Resident or Cottage Accommodation. —All attendants reside in the asylum, or have cottages found them. Uniform Allowance. —Nil; uniforms are not worn. Salaries of attendants in charge rise at rate of £2 10s. per annum; those of other attendants, £5 per annum. 7th August, 1886. G. S. Cooper.
