1886. NEW ZEALAND.

COST OF ADMINISTERING "THE BANKRUPTCY ACT, 1883."

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives, dated the Bth September, 188 S. Ordered, " That a return be laid before this House next session showing—(l.) The amount of fees paid into the Public Account under " The Bankruptcy Act, 1883," from the coming into operation of the said Act (Ist January, 1884) to the 31st December, 1885. (2.) The amount actually paid to Official Assignees and their Deputies out of the Consolidated Fund during the same period by way of salary, commission, remuneration, reimbursement, or otherwise. (3.) The amount claimed by, but not actually paid to, Official Assignees and their Deputies during the same period. (i.) The average dividend paid to unsecured creditors, not including those entitled to any priority, in respect of all estates administered under the said Act during the same period. (5.) The number of persons who have become bankrupt, and the number of persons convicted of offences and sentenced under the provisions of the said Act, during the same period."—(Mb. SAMUEL.)
