RETURN of Lands held under Depasturing and other Leases (except for Gold Mining), and of Rents, &c., paid, for the Year ending 31st December, 1868.
{a) The Assessments in the above Return are for the year 1867. {b) Held under Depasturing Licenses. (c) Held under " The Crown Lands (Nelson) Leasing Act, 1867." (d) Held under lease | Note.—Rent for the first six months of 1868, for most of the land now held under lease, (c) Still held under license. J was paid under the then existing licenses. (/) The surveys necessitated by the Marlborough Waste Lands Act have proved that the estimated acreage of many of the Runs was much too large; hence the difference between the acreage given in the present Return and that for the year 1867. {g) This acreage is approximate only. (h) Held under " Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865." (i) Held under Otago Land Regulations, 1856. Alfeed Domett, Secretary for Crown Lands.
