Copy of a Letter from Mr. John Mobeison to the Hon. E. \V. Stafford. Office of the New Zealand Government Agency, 3 Adelaide Place, King William Street, Sic, — London, Ist June, 1867. Adverting to my letter of number and date as in the margin, I have the honor to state, that having failed to obtain the information on the subject of Courts of Arbitration which the Government require, from the Consulates in London, I addressed a letter to Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies, craving His Grace to have the goodness to support my application to Lord Stanley, in order that the information may be obtained from Her Majesty's representative at the Continental Courts ; and I herewith enclose for your information the reply I have received from the Undersecretary. Enclosure. Copy of a Letter from Mr. C. E. Addeeley to Mr. Jomr Moeeison. Sin, — Downing Street, 18th May, 1867. I am directed by the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the Bth instant, explaining the circumstances under which you are desirous of obtaining certain information respecting Courts of Arbitration established in foreign countries, and I am desired to inform you that a copy of it has been forwarded to the Foreign Office for the consideration of Lord Stanley. I am to suggest that you will probably obtain the best information from those actually concerned ■with such Courts, and in the matters with which such Courts treat, through private merchants or others.
