SUMMARY OF PURCHASES EFFECTED IN THE PROVINCE OF AUCKLAND, FROM 5th JULY, 1850, TO 1st MARCH, 1854. (To complete the Return printed as C—No. 4, in the Blue Book of last Session.)

Sib,— In compliance witli a letter from the Treasury, dated the 15th nlto., requesting me to enable the Chief Land Commissioner to procure the information called for by the Resolution of the House of Representatives, dated April loth, 1858, I have the honor to forward the enclosed Returns of the area of the Lands purchased by the late Surveyor General during the period stated. As most of these Lands are now Surveyed, the area given by Survey will differ from the estimated contents given in previous Returns, from the Surveyor General's Office, where no Survey, or a partial Survey has been made. 1 have estimated the acreage as correctly as lam able, I have, &c, (Signed) James Babkk, Deputy Waste Land Commissioner.
