POWER TO LOCAL BODIES (By Telegraph.—rress Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday Local bodies in future will be empowered to make financial contributions to the Home Guard if they so desire. This provision is contained in an amendment to the Defence Emergency Regulations, 1941, which was gazetted tonight. The power was previously held by local bodies, but when the Home Guard came under Army administration recently this power was abrogated and the regulations reintroduce it.
