YOUTHS OF 19 YEARS
NEW REGISTRATIONS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON. Wednesday The Minister of National Service, the Hon. R. Semple, to-day explained that in view of the difficulties of keeping track of approximately 40,000 prospective members of the first division who were under 19 years of age before May, 1940, it was decided to extract the registration forms of those who had attained the age of IS up to December 31, 1940, and bring them into the register as having attained the requisite age, while those attaining the age ol 19 years on or after May 1, 1941, would be required to register. The position, therefore, was that those reaching 19 years of age between May and December of last year should have received a certificate of enrolment within 28 days of their birthday. If they had not they must re-register immediately. Those reaching 19 subsequently must register immediately after their birthday, without waiting for a certificate of enrolment.
