CIVIC THEATRE

"Wuthering Heights” was photographed by Gregg Toland, whose dramatic lighting and outdoor cinematograpny give "Wuthering Heights” a background of brooding, sinister mood which is in keeping with its stirring tale. Briefly, the story concerns the lives of five strangely assorted people. Its mood is one of great love and great disaster, played out in an atmosphere of strange emotions, strange hates, strange moods. Merle Oberon is cast as Cathy, whose life is mysteriously influenced by the moors on which she has lived all her life. Laurence Olivier plays the role of Heathcliff, a brooding, melancholy figure in love with Cathy. "TIN PAN ALLEY” "Tin Pan Alley,” a sparkling musical comedy, will be screened on Friday. Betty Gable and Alice Faye head the cast.
