OBITUARY
CONSTABLE P. J. O’BRIEN (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WANGANUI, Monday Constable P. J. O’Brien, who has been in charge of St. John’s Police Station since 1924, died last night. Before coming to New Zealand in 1910 Constable O’Brien was a member of the Royal Irish Constabulary and was one of the special bodyguard when King Edward VII. visited Ireland in 1903. He joined the New Zealand Police Force in Wellington in 1910 and was later transferred to Ponsonby and then to Wanganui. Constables C. O’Brien, of Auckland, and D. O’Brien, of Wellington, are sons.
