MANY INTERESTING EVENTS LARGE DOG TRIAL ENTRIES Owing: to the Waikato Central Agricultural Association’s show at Cambridge being conflned to one day this year, a number of events were excluded from the programme. <>f these, the most important were the sheep dog trials, and they were held on Saturday, in conjunction with a number of horse events amt childrens running races. The gymkhana provided an interesting artemoon’s entertainment, but the attendance was not as large as was anticipated. However, the fixture was a ilnancial success, a proflt of about £25 being made. Tb« dog trials were organised by Mr H. P. Hewitt, the president or the Central Walk ito I'og Trial Club. The main event was won by -Meg” owned by Mr k. Fortune, or Timaru. V nuulber or local even:? were also contested. The judge, Mr F.. G. Uroad considered the work was very good. Mr C. Meredith who organised the gymkhana, was in charge or the hor-e events assisted by Mr W. Ranstead, Mr A. M. Fisher and others. Mr c. Ramsay was judge or the adult events and *Mr R. Hinton judge or the children’s events. Classe-j were held Tor pet and pedigree dogs, with Mr J. Kidd in charge. The athletic events were run by Messrs L. Carey. Webber and 11. Tucker.
