When an Italian bomber squadron, escorted by fighter planes attempted its first air raid on London the results were disastrous for the Italians. British Hurricane fighters shot down 13 of Italy’s planes in 15 minutes; and no bombs were dropped on British soil. Here are some of the Hurricane fighter pilots, one with an Italian steel helmet trophy.
