COLLISION WITH CAR MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED PROCEEDING HOME ON LEAVE (Bv Telegraph.—special to Times) AUCKLAND, Monday Colliding with a motor-car near Hatfield’s Beach, Orewa, about midday on Saturday, a soldier riding a motor-cycle received injuries from which he later died in hospital. He was:— Private Ralph Ashton, of Whangaparaoa. Private Ashton was returning home on leave from a military camp when the accident occurred. He was attended by Dr. R. G. Dudding, of Northcote, and taken in an ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, where he was admitted suffering from a compound fracture of the skull. His death occurred late yesterday afternoon.
