INCREASE IN COST BIG SHIPBUILDING PROGRAMME (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, March 13 An increase of 4,000,000 dollars in the cost of the Empire air training scheme was disclosed to-day with the announcement that a revised estimate is placed at 1,000,000,000 dollars. Of this Canada will provide 583,000,000 dollars. Details af the shipbuilding programme to be undertaken by Canada show that it is proposed to ‘build 7Q corvettes, 50 minesweepers and 20 merchant vessels, as well as a large number of small craft. Canadian shipyards have now launched 45 corvettes and 13 minesweepers.
