SHOOTING TRIP

14-POINTER WAPITI SHOT IN THE SOUTH (By Telegraph.—Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Saturday A fairly good 14-pointer wapiti head as well as several smaller ones were secured at the .top north arm of Lake Te Anau by a party of sportsmen who have just returned to their homes at Balfour. The 14pointer had a heavy-beamed head with a spreading of 45 in. by 44in. The pfirty enjoyed fairly good weather but consider they would have had more success if the trip had been delayed a fortnight as it was too early in the roaring season for easy stalking. Travelling up one valley they went through dense bush with no clearings at all. Waipiti, while being reasonably numerous in that locality, were difficult to trace.
