Copyright) NEW YORK, March 14 A Gallup survey “shows a notable decline in the number of American voters who oppose fighting Japan if necessary to stop her southward expansion.” This month 39 per cent, replied “No” to a question whether the United States should risk war in order to prevent Japan taking Singapore and the East Indies, as compared with 46 per cent, in February. This month 40 per cent, replied “Yes” as against 39 per cent, in February. “A study indicates that the closer the Japanese draw to the Axis the stiffer becomes the attitude of the American public,” it is stated.
