CRUSHING AIR BLOWS
BRITAIN CONTINUES OFFENSIVE IMMENSE FIRES-WIDESPREAD DESTRUCTION 31 ENEMY RAIDERS DESTROYED IN FORTNIGHT DA\ ENTRY, March 15 Britain has continued its crushing air blows on German cities, bringing fire and destruction to the enemy’s strongholds and crippling the Nazis’ production of war supplies. The attack on Hamburg is described as the mightiest of all time. The terrific glare from immense fires and the vast clouds of smoke billowing across the city prevented Royal Air Force observers from noting details of the destruction wrought by British bombs. The enemy again carried out sustained attacks over Britain last night. However, if conditions were ideal for bombing, they were also ideal for interception, with the result that no fewer than 13 Nazi bombers were brought down during the night. Eleven of them fell victims to British night fighters. Thus for the first 14 days of March 31 night raiders have met their end over Britain.
