WEDDING
WILSON—LOUDEN NEEDLERUN LACE GOWN A charming wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, on the afternoon of Monday, March 10, when Rona Florence, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. F. Louden, of Allen Street, Hamilton, was married to Aircraftsman Gordon Campbell Wilson, only son of Mr and Mrs W. Wilson, of Whakatane. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. G. Gilbert, and Mr E. H. Apthrop played the wedding music. During the signing of the register an appropriate solo was sung by Mr K. P. Eade. The church had been attractively arranged with pastel-shaded asters by friends of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown of white needlerun lace over satin. Tulle frilling trimmed the heart-shaped neckline and the short high-should-ered sleeves of the fitting bodice, which was trimmed down the back to the waistline with a row of tiny satin buttons. The graceful bouffant skirt fell in soft folds to form a slight train. A coronet of white flowers held in place her long veil of white tulle, which formed a second train, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white tiger lilies. The Attendants In attendance on the bride as bridesmaids were Miss Bonnie Wilson, sisiter of the bridegroom, and Miss Vida Booth, cousin of the bride. They wore dainty frocks of delphinium blue coin-spot silk net over satin, of similar design to that of the bride. Coronets of pink-shaded asters were worn on their hair, and they carried bouquets of matching flowers. Leading-Aircraftsman Rollo Schofield, of Hamilton, was best man, and the groomsman was Aircraftsman J. Clarke, of Hobsonville. Mr Knowles Louden was the usher at the church. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Centreway Rooms, which had been artistically decorated with pink and mauve asters. Mrs Louden received the guests wearing a smart two-piece suit of Lido blue cloque and a toning felt hat. Her posy was composed of gold marigolds. The mother of the bridegroom was in a clover frock relieved with grey and .a grey hat, and she carried a posy of pastel shaded asters. When Aircraftsman G. C. Wilson and Mrs Wilson left by car on their honeymoon, which will be spent touring the North, the bride travelled in a mirage blue suit, a matching blue hat trimmed with a Burgundy quill, and Burgundy accessories.
