OPPOSITION TO PROHIBITION “ANTI-SOCIAL AND UNSOUND" REQUEST TO GOVERNMENT (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. copyright) (Received March 15, 11 a.m.) OTTAWA, March 14 The Canadian Trades and Labour Congress expressed opposition to prohibition today in the following memorandum to the Dominion Government:— “We learn from the press that representations have been made to the Government either to introduce national prohibition or drastically restrict the sale of alcoholic beverages, as wartime measures. “Therefore we desire to reaffirm our belief that prohibition is antisocial and morally unsound."
