GOLF SEASON OPENS

ST. ANDREWS COMPETITION With the St. Andrews course in excellent order the Hamilton Golf Club will open its season tomorrow with a mixed foursomes match in which honorary members have been invited to take part. Fairways and greens have been carefully maintained through the summer, and in spite of dry weather they are in remarkably good condition. Many members have played all through the summer and there should be a good field for the opening competition. Although numbers of players are now in the fighting services the team strength of the club will still be formidable, for in the past two years new talent has appeared, especially among the younger people. The club should enjoy a highly successful playing season.
