OKOROIRE RED CROSS MARCH MEETING There are still many people in Okoroire who are not aware that a branch of the Red Cross Society has been formed in Okoroire. A meeting is held in the Okoroire Hall each month, from where all activities of the branch are directed, and where a brisk trade is carried on in the sale of produce, etc., kindly donated by its many supporters. All the materials required are bought by the Okoroire branch and are given to members to knit or sew for soldiers overseas; the finished articles are collected at the meetings and forwarded to Hamilton headquarters for despatch overseas. Refugee clothing is also required and members and people of the district are asked to put aside any old clothes for this purpose. Mrs Brown, who is in charge of the reguee clothing parcels will gratefully receive these.

The support of the general public in both giving and buying is solicited by the Okoroire branch and donations of any kind will be welcomed. Any local person interested who is not a member of the Okoroire subbranch of the Red Cross Society is invited to get in touch with Mrs J. McLaren (president), or Mrs W. B. Hardwick (secretary), or to come to the next meeting to be held on April 4.

At the March meeting of the Okoroire Red Cross Ihere was an attendance of twenty-one members. Mrs J. McLaren presided.
