ENJOYABLE EVENING
PRESENTATION TO SOLDIER An enjoyable evening was spent recently when the residents of Karakariki met in honour of Private A. Morris, who is held in high esteem in the district. Mr Rendell presented Private Morris with an engraved fountain pen and a cheque from those present. Private Morris suitably replied. Dancing was enjoyed, Mrs Hastie and Mrs Sharp providing the music. Miss O. Buckley rendered delightful solos, and Mr Hart acted as master of ceremonies. Those present were:—Mesdames H. Morris, Sharp, Hastie, Newnes, Kirkbride, Smith, Budd, Bartels, Buckley, Vietch, Massicks, Magner, Hart, and Rowe. Misses O. Bucklay, E. Bartels, V. Sharpe and A. Magner.
