Copyright) (Received March 13, 3.15 p.m.) ISTANBUL, March 12 The police have thrown out a network over the whole country to prevent the escape of the would-be assassins of Mr G. Rendel, British Ambassador. Miss Armstrong has died of her injuries. Almost the entire British colony in Istanbul attended the funeral of Miss Ellis. Confirmation of the fact that the bombs were secreted in the baggage of the Legation party at Sofia is contained in an official statement issued at Ankara during the inquiry, which is still proceeding. British quarters in Istanbul expressed the considered view that the bombing was a Gestapo plot in an effort to mar BritishTurkish relations.
