Mr Justice O’Regan, who has been conducting a sitting of the Compensation Court at Hamilton, left for Napier by the Limited express last night. Messrs S. L. Paterson, S.M., A. E. Manning and R. Coulter, as the No. 2 Armed Forces Appeal Board, considered appeals at Te Aroha today. Second-Lieu ten ant J. G. Wynyard has been gazetted as a lieutenant with the New Zealand Divisional Cavalry in Egypt. Mr H. E. Worsp, of Whangarei, chairman of directors of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company. Limited, was a visitor to the Waikato yesterday. Second-Lieutenants A. C. Beachen and R. S. Pearson, of Hamilton, who are serving with the 18th (Auckland) Rifle Battalion in Egypt, have been gazetted as lieutenants. Mr Gordon Mcßeth, ol Wanganui, has been appointed adjudicator of the musical section of the Palmerston tforth Competitions to be held in May. Mr S. N. Ziman, of Hamilton, has received advice from the Minister of Education that he has been appointed to the Senate of the New Zealand University for a further term. Second-Lieutenants L. A. Radford, F. J. Needham, T. R. Atchley and J. M. L. McCredie, all formerly of the 7th Medium Battery, of Hamilton, and now in Egypt, have been gazetted as lieutenants. Mr Will Thomas, of Timaru, was elected Governor of the 53rd Rotary District, which includes New Zealand and the Fiji Islands. This is the second time Mr Thomas has occupied this office, the previous occasion being the year 1936-37. Mr H. A. C. Davy and FlyingOfficer C. C. N. Johnston, from Air Force Headquarters, who are conducting the Air Force recruiting campaign throughout New Zealand, visited Hamilton today to prepare for next week’s campaign in the district. Messrs A. W. Clarke, A. W. McKinley, R. V. Laird, W. Graham Bell, C. D. Bennett, R. M. Black (Auckland), C. W. Shepley, P. Cording, T. G. Roberts (Wellington), C. E. Weinberg (Taumarunui), T. R. Anderson (Stratford), J. Dimock (Nelson) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
