BADLY MANAGED

IMPRESSMENT OF TRUCKS APPEAL AUTHORITY IN VIEW NO INSTRUCTIONS RECEIVED IBj Telegrapn.—Press Association) GISBORNE, Thursday The opinion that the whole business of impressment of trucks for the Army had been very badly managed was expressed by Mr P. J. O. Skoglund, the No. 2 Licensing Authority, at a sitting yesterday. He stated that he had been appointed an Appeal Authority in connection with the impressment, but he had not been given any instructions as to procedure. He had received a number of complaints and evidence of considerable hardship. At the same time he had been told that Wairoa had sent in a list of 17 trucks which were available to the Department, but nothing further had been heard regarding them.
