“ENTIRE AGREEMENT”

AUSTRALIAN WAR COUNCIL POLICY IN THE PACIFIC (Times Air Mail Service.) SYDNEY, March 8 The Federal Labour leader, Mr Curtin, said in Canberra yesterday that the nine-point explanation given by the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, of his speech on the Pacific made it clear that he entirely agreed with the War Council. In Sydney yesterday the actingPrime Minister, Mr Fadden, denied that the secret session of Parliament was to be held to discuss Mr Menzies’ speech. After studying the nine-point explanation of his Pacific speech given by the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, the leader of the Opposition, Mr Curtin, said today: “ The fact is that what the War Council has done and is doing in regard to Australia and the measures essential to its security are measures which no well-in-formed Australian can do other than support. “ The Prime Minister’s categorical interpretation of his London speech makes it clear that he entirely agrees with the War Council. That, surely, is the vital thing lor the public to keep in mind. “ The War Council is determined on two things: (1) To assist those who seek peace; (2) to resist those who make war. Resistance to war-mak-ers demands that nothing be left undone that should be done and that the maximum preparation is the minimum of our aim.”
