CLAY BIRD SHOOT
MATCH AT TE AWAMUTU (Special to Times) TtE AWAMUTU, Monday The annual clay bird shoot promoted by the Te Awamutu Returned Soldiers’ Association was held on the Waipa G'tm GluJj course yesterday in brilliant weather. There was a large attendance with visitors from llaimilton, Puiaruru, Te Kuiti and Otorohanga. At the conclusion or Uie shoot, Mr G. 0. LiLnionds, president of the R.S.A., thanked the Waipa Gun club for the use of the course, the ladies for the catering, Mr Murray Kay for a donation towards the main trtupliy and Mr w. Parish for a donation and very valuable services. Mr Parish replied. Resulte were as folows:— Five Bird Eye Opener: L. Maher came first with live birds and J. C. Faucett, M. GO way, and T. MoMillan shot four birds and divided second money. Five Bird Sweep: Allison, Parish, McMillan and G. Pollard shot the possibles and divided. Five Bird Sweep: Otway, J. Pollard and C. Wdotan divided the prize. Ten Bird sweep: T. McMillan came first and M. Otway and Humphrey 6 tied and divided second money. 1 ive Bird sweep: Allison, Trimble, Armstrong and W. Parish tied and divided the stake. Nine Bird Sweep: A. a. McLean came first and G. Tarr, Allison, w. Parish, Otway and Trimble tied and divided second place money. Six Bird Gimcrack: Allison l, j. Pollard 2. Nino Bird Sweep: R. Trimble 1, W. Par tab 2, Faucett 3. six Bird Gimcrack: Prentice and Allison -iividc-1 first money and 11. Mitchell and \\ . Parish divided second money 1 ‘ <qua(J ’ flve I)lr<js: Turkington 0 Box Shoot, five birds: Faucett t, Maher Second Awkward Squad, five birds--1 nimble .-hot the possible and donated the stake to the R.s.A. Turkington, with four btrus, did likewise.
