HORRORS OF WAR

DANGER TO DOMINION (By Teleprapn.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday A warning that the horrors of war that are being hurled at England might yet be used against New Zealand was made by the Minister of National Service, the Hon. R. Semple, speaking at the opening of an exhibition of A.R.P. and E.P.S. equipment today. “The danger is not imaginery, but real. I regret that it should be necessary to demonstrate the real horrors of modern warfare,” he said in reference to the display of all kinds of masks, protective suitings, anti-gas treatment, sirens and other equipment. He said distance had been annihilated and we might be challenged at an/ time. It was just as well the people should realise it. The exhibition remains open for a fortnight, the proceeds going to the queen carnival for patriotic purposes.
