' Mrs S. Cooper, Auckland, is visiting Hamilton as the guest of her daughter, Mrs P. G. Russell. Mrs J. Ganley has returned to Auckland from a short visit to Hamilton. Mrs P. Stark, Hastings, is visiting Mrs J. A. Galpin, Hamilton. Mrs P. Pi. kara, Junr., and Mrs E. Bogun, who have been on holiday at Waihi Beach, have returned to Puketaha. Miss Zita Greville, Otorohanga, spent the week-end as the guest of Mrs A. M. Gould, Hamilton. Miss Margaret Reid, Hamilton, was a recent visitor to Mrs J. Taylor, Paterangi. A most enjoyable knitting evening was spent recently by members of the Hamilton High School Old Girls’ Association, Mrs E. A. Browne being the hostess. It was decided that “ peggy squares ” be knitted for blankets. An enjoyable afternoon was recently held in St. James’ Methodist Hall, Frankton, in aid of special church funds. Brisk business was I done at the bring-and-buy table, and an excellent programme was contributed by Mrs Edwards and Mrs I. C. Hayward (solos), and Mrs Burgess and Miss Burton (elocutionary items). Mrs Fuldon was accompanist. The garden competition was won by .Mrs Burgess. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Waite and Mrs A. J. Hayward. TE AWAMUTU Mrs E. Wing, Ngahinapouri, is staying with her mother, Mrs Anderson, Te Rore. Mrs H. Shaw, Kihikihi, expects her daughter, Miss Jessie Shaw, to arrive from Sydney very shortly. Miss N. Rhodes, Paterangi, has left by plane for Dunedin, where she will spend several weeks’ holiday. Mrs E. Head, Cambridge, who has been the guest of Mrs H. Liddington, Orakau, has returned home. Miss A. Hattaway, Auckland, is staying with Mrs J. Marx, Kihikihi. Mrs H. Griffiths, Tauranga, is the guest of her mother, Mrs A. H. Storey. * * * * Mrs E. Storey, who has been visiting Kio Kio, has returned home. Mrs B. Gunn, Auckland, who has been staying with her mother, Mrs A. Storey, has returned home. OTOROHANGA Miss Peggy Gordon is spending a holiday at Whatamango, South Island. Mrs E. Wilkens, Palmerston North, is the guest of her sister, Mrs J. M. Matthews, “ Glen Lee.” Mrs T. Thompson, who has been visiting Otorohanga has returned to Opotiki. Mrs J. Costley, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs W. J. Costley. Miss N. Murphy is spending a holiday in Wanganui. Mrs C. Stanley is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mrs H. Aldwaith has left for Morrinsville, where she will in future reside. RAGLAN Mrs S. J. Rawlinson has returned to Ohaupo after spending a week’s holiday in Raglan. Miss Betty Cushman has returned home after spending two weeks at the Great Barrier Island. Miss Peggy Saunders, Te Akau, has left for Massey College to take a course of instruction in herd testing. Miss Beverley Clark leaves this week for Auckland, where she will commence her studies at the University.
