HOSTILE DEMONSTRATION CROWDS AT NEW PLYMOUTH NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday A hostile demonstration r olio wed the success of Zest in the Urenui Handicap at New Plymouth yesterday. On Thursday Zest bad finished last in the Flying Handicap, for which she was favourite. A section or the crowd -surged to the birdcage enclosure with shouts of disapproval. The owner of Zest, -Mr \V. 8. Glenn, requested an inquiry and after the judicial committee had heard Mr Glenn’s explanation, it issued a statement, drawing attention to the faot that Zest met Kentucky, who finished second on both days, 151 b better yesterday on tne weights carried than on Thursday.
