AIR FORCE TIMING 1430 OVERSEAS SINCE OUTBREAK (By Telegraph—Press Aunt-mica! MASTERTON. Monday Addressing a gathering in the local theatre last night the Minister of Defence, the Hon. 1". Jones, made an appeal for men to volunteer for air force training . Since the outbreak of war 500 pilots, 350 observers and 580 air gunners had received training in New Zealand and had left for service overseas. So far 8850 recruits had passed through or were at present being trained for entry into the Air Force and New Zealand had now reached the stage when more men were required for training as pilots and observers.
