EUREKA NOTES
CARD EVENING An enjoyable card evening, organised by the hall committee, was held in the Eureka Hall recently, when there was a good attendance. Flag five hundred was played, the winning trio being Mesdames Larsen, J. McClennan and Mr Teehan. A compe-tition-was won by Miss B. Thomas. Those present were:—Mesdames Harris, Gresswell, Townsend, C. Masters, Saward, Johns, Larsen, J. McClennan, K. Inglis. Misses U. Townsend, N. Harris, B. Thomas, N. Johns, H. Saleman and I. Thomas. LADIES' SOCIAL CLUB The annual meeting of the Ladies’ Social Club was held in the Eureka Hall recently, when Mrs K. Inglis presided over a fair attendance. The secretary presented her report, which was satisfactory both financially and socially. Most of the funds have been given for patriotic purposes. A vote of thanks was passed to the president and secretary for their untiring efforts during the year. Officers for the ensuing year are:— Mrs John (president), and Mrs C. Masters (secretary). A social hour was spent in playing cards, the winners being Mesdames Sexton (Newstead), Larsen and Powdrill. The hall competition was won by Mrs Sexton. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Larsen and Powdrill. Those present were:—Mesdames Townsend, Johns, Sexton (Newstead), Powdrill, K. Inglis, C. Masters, Cresswell, J. McClennan, Saward and Larsen. Misses H. Saleman, N. Johns and Sexton.
