SHOW AT MORRINSVILLE HIGH STANDARD OF ENTRIES (By Telegraph—Times Special Reporter) MORRINSVILLE, Saturday Worthily maintaining the high standards of past shows, the 22nd annual show of the Morrinsville Agricultural and Pastoral Association I was held at the Recreation Grounds j today. In many sections increased j numbers of entries paraded before the 1 judges, who were full of praise for | the general quality of the exhibits. | Dairy cattle were particularly well [represented, the majority of Wai- | kato’s most prominent breeders being ! represented in the various breed secj tions. The quality of the pedigree : stock on show today was a tribute to | the stud stock breeders of the district ! and was an indication of the soundj ness of their breeding methods. Fat ' stock entries were also penned in re- { cord numbers and were a reflection of : the success of Morrinsville producers | in catering for the export trade, i There was an impressive array of I horses and in the hunters’ events local entries had to contend with visiting competitors from far afield. The ring events were keenly contested and were the principal source of entertainment for th large crowds during the day. The show was opened by Mr W. S. Goosman, M.P. for Waikato. After referring to the great part played by agricultural shows in assisting in inj creasing the Dominion’s primary pro- | duction, Mr Goosman said that it was ; New Zealand’s bounden duty to have j the goods ready when Britain rej quired them. I Mr Goosman referred to the wellj merited promotion of Lieutenant- ! Colonel J. M. Allen., the district’s | member for Parliament, and said that : all in Lieutenant-Colonel Allen’s I electorate would be proud of the : honour bestowed on their representa--1 tive.
