Copyright) (Received March 7, 3.15 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 6 I Administration strategists today | drafted a tentative amendment to : the Aid to Britain Bill designed to allay fears that the measure would authorise the warlike use of the United States Army and Navy abroad. The Administration leaders are reported to have won an important compromise in the Bill on the highly controversial point of the outside use of United States armed forces. Senator Vandenberg says Senator El lender has been persuaded to accept the Administration’s compromise version of Senator Ellender’s amendment, which yesterday threatened to drag out the debate endlessly. Export License Control President Roosevelt has added 16 j commodities, including several vegietable fat produces, to the growing I list of war materials subject to exi port license control. Simultaneously, he issued a pro- : clamation imposing similar controls l on exports of plans or specification used in connection with the producj tion of any items under the license system. Copyright) SAN FRANCISCO, March 5 Mrs Alice Crockett, in a court action against Wiedmann, German | Consul-General at San Francisco and I formerly Hitler’s personal aide-de-j camp, alleged that he received more than 5,000,000 dollars from Germany lor espionage activities. Plaintiff claimed 8000 dollars, alleging that Wiedmann sent her to Germany on a confidential mission, and then refused to pay for her services.
