Copyright) WASHINGTON, March 6 Mr Cordell Hull today described the United States’ foreign policy in the Far East as aiming to maintain equality of opportunity, respect for national sovereignties, and observance of treaties. Mr Hull said: “Our relations in the Far East have brought some benefits and some problems. Recently the two countries in that region were unhappily engaged in a military conflict, and still more recently the conflict area was spreading to neighbouring regions. At such a time there is great need for informed and intelligent discussion of Far Eastern questions.” RAID IN PHILIPPINES ARREST OF JAPANESE RADIO SET CONFISCATED (United Press Assn. —Elec. Te!. Copyright) (Received March 7. 3.15 p.m.) MANILA, March 6 An unlicensed radio transmitting set was confiscated and one Japanese and several others were arrested in a raid on a Japanese compound by the Philippine Manila police.
