UNUSUAL BREACH

OIL FUEL REGULATIONS THREE CHARGES PREFERRED Charges of failure to make declarations of mileage covered by his motor vehicles, during March, 1940, as required under the Oil Fuel Regulations, 1939, were preferred against Geoffrey Nathaniel Brown, well-borer, of Rotorua, in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, today. Defendant pleaded guilty to all counts. Brown was the owner of two wellboring machines, said SeniorSergeant A. G. McHugh. For one of the vehicles he had failed to make mileage declarations until he was interviewed by Constable Patterson when he paid the back instalments. Though Brown alleged that he had sold the other machine he was actually required to make a mileage declaration for the month of March. Defendant was convicted and fined £5 by Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., on one count and on the other two counts he was ordered to pay costs. On a further charge of disposing of a motor vehicle and failing to notify the Deputy Registrar of the change, defendant was convicted and ordered to pay costs.
